Core concepts
Members and units
Everyone on the association's roll, with a clear membership state, organised into units.
Membership states
A membership records a person's relationship with the association.
| State | Meaning |
|---|---|
| invited | Asked to join; not yet accepted. |
| active | A current member. |
| suspended | Membership paused by the association. |
| left | The member chose to leave. |
| removed | Removed by the association. |
Member status
Separately, each member record has a status:
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| pending | Awaiting review or completion. |
| active | In good standing. |
| inactive | Not currently active. |
| suspended | Restricted. |
Units
Units group members — chapters, branches, ministries, teams — each with a roster and officers. Managing them uses the unit permissions:
| Permission | Allows |
|---|---|
| unit::create | Create units. |
| unit::roster | Manage who belongs to a unit. |
| unit::officers | Appoint a unit's officers. |
| unit::* | Everything above, and more. |
Import and export
Member lists can be imported and exported where the plan includes imports and exports. Exporting also needs member::export; plan limits such as max_import_rows and max_export_rows apply.
